Winter League Match 5 Results

Great conditions for the Athy & District Anglers Club Winter League Match 5! A nice overcast day, not too cold, not too windy. Perfect for some great fishing!

A full house presented for this winter league match with all participant members in attendance. The call was taken at the peg draw to fish the full 5 hours instead of the planned 4 hours. Pegs were drawn and setup got underway!

All in was called at 10:00am. A few nice roach to get started made some of us think we were on for a Barrow roach day. Little did we know the name of the game for the day would be Dace. Nothing but Dace as far as the line could cast!

Pegs 1 through 5 on the castle side continued to deliver bountiful Dace for the whole day, while pegs 6 through 8 delivered intermittently with some Pike on the prowl! On the Pettits side, very little action was had. Hugh luckily came into some Perch and Roach in the last 20 minutes of the match, getting himself a place on the board.

All out was called at 3:00pm and weigh ins commenced!
